Smoked Bratwurst Sausage Recipe
A nice Bratwurst sausage recipe to try !
Ingredients :

* Smoked bratwurst sausage 1 pound and a half
* 1 head of cabbage
* Bacon strips – not necessary
* Potatoes, any kind
* 2 green peppers
* One onion
* ¼ ounce of chopped chilies
* ½ teaspoon thyme
* ½ teaspoon basil leaves
* 32 ounces Chicken broth (you may make your own or buy it at the store)

INSTRUCTIONS
Chop up the Bratwurst sausage, the cabbage, and the bacon. Then chop up the potatoes, any way you want, they may be skinned or not. Fry up the bacon in a skillet. Once the bacon are nice and crisp, put it on a plate on top of a paper towel. Save the grease from the bacon. You do not have to do this, you may chose to use regular oil or butter. The bacon grease just adds extra flavor.
The next thing you want to do is take and chop the two green peppers and the onion. Chop them any way you want. Then place the sausage peppers and the onions into the skillet that the bacon was in, with the bacon grease. This will give it some nice flavor. Let it simmer and cook for about two minutes. Do not allow it to fully cook because that sucker is going into the crock-pot!

Now we are ready to put it all together. Place the cabbage into the crock-pot. On top of it, place the bratwurst sausage, onions, and pepper mixture. Then add in the potatoes. The crock-pot will be pretty full, make sure you mix it all up in the crock-pot. Then add in the chopped chilies. Then put in the thyme then put in the basil leaves. Last but not least, put in the chicken broth. Then cover and stet the crock-pot onto high heat. Make sure you plug in the crock-pot or it will never cook ( just teasing) It will take about four or five for that sucker to cook! The Bratwurst Sausage recipe is ready to serve....enjoy! Eat it !

INGREDIENTS
  • 4 slices rye or white bread
  • 1/2 c. well drained sauerkraut, snipped
  • 1/2 tsp. caraway seed
  • 1/2 lb. cooked Polish sausage or bratwurst, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 c. sliced green onion
  • 4 oz. thinly sliced Mozzarella cheese
  • 4 beaten eggs
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 tbsp. all-purpose flour

INSTRUCTIONS
Diagonally halve bread slices to make 8 triangles. Arrange half of bread triangles in an 8"x8"x2" baking dish.
In a small mixing bowl stir together sauerkraut and caraway seeds and set aside.

Cook bratwurst sausage and onion for 3 to 4 minutes. Drain. Spoon sauerkraut mixture over bread, top with sausage mixture and cheese slices. Arrange remaining bread on top of cheese. Beat together the eggs, milk and flour; pour over strata. Cover and chill in refrigerator for 3 to 24 hours.
Bake, uncovered in a 325 degree oven for 1 hour. It is done when knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before serving. The bratwurst sausage recipe is ready to serve...enjoy the feasts !

INGREDIENTS
  • 3 lbs. sauerkraut, rinsed & well drained
  • 1/2 lb. thickly sliced bacon
  • 4 pork sausages
  • 4 bratwurst or knockwurst
  • 4 frankfurters
  • 8 pork chops
  • 1 lb. smoked ham, cut in pieces
  • 2 c. white wine
  • 3 whole onions, peeled & stuffed with 3 cloves
  • Salt & pepper
  • Water
  • 1 tbsp. black peppercorns

INSTRUCTIONS
Place sauerkraut in large pan; add peppercorns, onions and white wine, cover and simmer 15 minutes. Saute bacon until crisp; drain. Brown all sausage in hot fat; drain. Brown pork chops and ham in same skillet. Place a layer of sauerkraut over 2 slices bacon; lay half of sausages, two more slices bacon and meats. Cover with a layer of sauerkraut and repeat the process. Cover tightly and simmer 3 hours (pour 1 cup of water during cooking, if necessary). Season to taste
with salt and pepper. Serve with boiled potatoes....and the bratwurst sausage recipe is ready to serve...hmmm...delicious ! Bon apetit !

  • 2 lb. sauerkraut
  • 1 lb. smokey bratwurst sausages
  • 1 lb. mild sausages or bratwurst
  • 1 lg. onion, sliced
  • 10 to 12 juniper berries or 1 oz. gin
  • Caraway seeds
  • 2 apples sliced or quartered
  • 1 c. dry white wine

INSTRUCTIONS
Wash sauerkraut under cold water until all the preserving liquid has been washed off. Drain and squeeze dry.Layer 1/2 sauerkraut, apples, onion, juniper berries and caraway seeds on the bottom of a crock pot. Add meat and then make another layer of the remaining sauerkraut mixture. Pour white wine over all and cook on low 8 to 10 hours. All types of sausages and smoked meats may be used. The Bratwurst sausage recipe of Choucroute is ready to serve...great !

  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 c. (4 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 sm. onion, chopped

Ingredients:

* 2 slices soft white bread
* 1/2 cup heavy cream
* 1 medium carrot, peeled and fine-diced
* 1/2 medium onion, fine-diced
* 1/2 teaspoon ground sage
* 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
* 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
* 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
* 1 Tablespoon kosher salt
* 1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
* 1 pound ground beef chuck (80-20%)
* 1 pound ground pork
* 2 sheets puff pastry (17.3-ounce box), thawed
* 1 egg white whisked with 1 Tablespoon water for eggwash glaze

INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 F. Line two jellyroll pans with parchment paper.
Cut bread into cubes and place in food processor. Pulse into crumbs.
(This works best if the bread is frozen or use bread that has been exposed to the air for an hour.) Place bread crumbs into a bowl and cover with cream. Set aside.

Place ground beef into the food processor and pulse until it is finely-ground, almost a puree. (Do not let the processor constantly run as the friction heat will begin to "cook" the meat.) Place in a
large mixing bowl. Repeat with the pork.
To the beef and pork, add the carrots, onion, sage, thyme, garlic powder, curry powder, salt, pepper, and cream-soaked bread crumbs. Mix thoroughly with a large fork, but do not overwork or the result will be tough.

Roll out one sheet of puff pastry into a rectangle about 10 inches by 14 inches. Cut in half lengthwise so you have two long strips. Divide the sausage mixture in half and set half aside. Divide the remaining half into two portions. Form each sausage portion into a log and place down the center of each puff pastry strip. Gently pull up pastry sides to meet forming an encased sausage roll. Wet your fingers lightly with water and moisten along the seam to seal the dough together.

Cut each Bratwurst sausage roll into 4 pieces. Place on prepared jellyroll pan seam-side down. Repeat with remaining sausage and puff pastry sheet. Brush each sausage roll with the eggwash glaze. Bake 35 to 40 minutes until golden. Let cool 5 minutes before serving. TheBratwurst sausage recipe is ready to serve....great taste !

Bratwurst Sausage, Ricotta and Mozzarella Lasagne Recipe

Ingredients:

* 1 large onion, chopped
* 4 cloves garlic, chopped
* 1-1/2 pounds crumbled sausage, sweet or hot
* 1 large red bell pepper, chopped
* 1 (28-ounce) jar tomato sauce (or homemade)
* 1/2 cup dry red wine
* 15 ounces part-skim ricotta (about 2 cups)
* 1 large egg
* 12 (7 by 3-1/2-inch) no-boil lasagne pasta sheets
* 12 ounces part-skim mozzarella
* 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Prepare the ziti pasta according to the package directions.
In a saucepan, heat the butter over medium high heat. Stir in the flour. Cook until golden brown. Add the milk to the flour mixture and stir constantly until thickened, about 10 to 15 minutes. Stir in the nutmeg and Parmesan cheese.
Drain the pasta and pour into a large 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
Add the marinara sauce, the white sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese to the pasta. Stir well. Sprinkle the bread crumbs over the top.
Bake for 20 to 30 minutes until bubbly. Turn on the broiler for 2 to 4 minutes to make a crispy top crust. The bratwurst sausage recipes is ready to serve...enjoy !
